Numbering among its neighbours the London Buddhist Centre, a centre for Tibetan Art and a long standing vegetarian cafe, it's no surprise that this old boozer got made over a couple of years back. Whilst not as painstakingly trendy as the bars a mile or so east, the Florist sticks to the standard bare floorboards and weathered leather furniture look, interspersed with some original features. It's busier and noisier, in the evening though, usually with someone having a go behind the DJ decks. Shame then that the choices behind the bar don't greatly inspire - it's the usual lager-y suspects plus London Pride in bottles, though as the place makes a fuss about its cocktails we perhaps should have opted for one of them. As for food, Tapas is the order of the day here. As rejigged East End pubs go, not a bad one at all.
