how to find it:
From Liverpool Street Station (it's easiest from here): take the Bishopsgate exit to the station, turn left and go up the main road, past several sets of traffic lights, to the junction with Bethnal Green Road which should be on the right. The Tea Building is on the corner on the right. If you walk past the Tea Building and take the next right up Redchurch, and the pub is ahead on the right.

A pub between the City and Shoreditch conjures up images of suited gents haranguing Hoxton fins, but there's none of that here. Just a fine pub. The well kept interior has loads of space, and the inviting bar area glitters away at you in a welcoming fashion. There are good ales on tap and favourably priced pub food. Add on a garden for summer drinking and you've got all the ingredients of a fine pub. As an added bonus, there's a carvery upstairs of a Sunday. Sure, it's a bit hidden away, but it's certainly as good as anything between Liverpool Street and Old Street. Give it a try. Unfortunately, its "discovery" by the occupants of the nearby Tea building, means that Thursday and Friday nights here are not quite so often the jaunty occasions they used to be.
