picture of The Anchor TapAn old pub right in the middle of Conran land (Butler's Wharf), but don't get the idea it's a trendy designer pub - it's not. It looks all right from the outside, but inside, it's a bit pokey, with numerous small rooms. Having said that, some of these rooms can be quite cosy and it would be a shame to knock it all together as is the trend when pubs get refurbished. Things get more cheery in the summer when the beer garden is open. The usual standard of drink you would expect from a Sam's pub and cheapish pub grub means that if you like Sam's fayre (and we know not everybody does), it's not bad here and considerably better than some nearby places.
