how to find it:

Blackfriars: Leave the tube at the New Bridge Street exit and head up the road (away from the river) towards Ludgate circus - you want to be on the right side of the road. Cross Ludgate Circus and carry on up Farringdon Street. The pub is just ahead on your right. Farringdon: turn right out of the station, turn left down Farringdon Road and walk under the viaduct. Carry on a short while and you'll soon see the pub on your left.

picture of White Swan (Farringdon Street)It's an inoffensive pub, with lots of room and a regular clientele of local office types. Does a nice pint of Green King's IPA - it, along with the stalwart London Pride, are the only two beers on tap. Being so close to the City, it's got a reasonable wine selection and does food at lunchtimes. It's worth remembering, as its location means that it's off the tourist trail and tends to be quieter out of peak times.
