A trendy, modern gastropub, with real ales, continental-style cool lagers, wines and spirits. A finalist in the Evening Standard Pub of the Year in 2000 - it had a reputation for excellent food, which, from more recent feedback, appears to be on the decline. Alas, we were not in the mood to test this on our last visit. Being a warm Friday evening, the pub and the pavement outside were packed with the braying, bright young things from the shire and, having managed to squeeze through the door into the pub, were immediately put off by the obvious need for table clearing accompanied by a smell we could only describe as "continental". But all this seemed to be of little concern to the punters, so we left them to it. At other times, things may well be more equable here, but there're plenty of similarly-specified alternatives in this area. It might be the victim of it's own success, but we do expect more of an effort from Geronimo Inns.
