picture of Q Bar at the Grave Maurice (ex Grave Maurice)We know its been a 'Q Bar' for a while now, having left its plush legendary boozer times and later dingy incarnation long behind. So now its very much like a student bar, with bright colours, some faintly interesting eclectic touches and some very non-East End events, including midweek Salsa classes. This wouldn't be Whitechapel without a mixed crowd and among the few studenty types and locals were one or two lost souls with a faraway look in their eye. This certainly isn't the Grave Maurice of old and overall we found it quite an odd place, with a sense it didn't quite know which direction to go in. We also wonder what Morrissey would make of it now.
