picture of Melton MowbrayThe Melton Mowbray is a Fuller's Ale and Pie pub and usually, it's a very full Fuller's Ale and Pie pub. It has all the usual stuff you'd expect from the chain - Fuller's excellent beers (plus other non-Fuller's items including Leffe, Scrumpy Jack and Hoegaarden), the eponymous pies, of course, and, thanks to the pub's location, hordes of suits and legal eagles from the offices nearby spilling out onto the pavement. It's a big pub, but it does, nevertheless, get crowded at the usual afterwork and lunch times, so if you don't get there early, you won't be likely to find a seat. It's an easy one for strangers in the area to find, though, just look for the mass of people on the pavement swilling beer and saying stuff like "tort" and "caveat emptor" to each other.
