This place has two things going for it - an better-than-usual range of booze on offer and its location. It also has two major things working against it - its clientele and its location. Situated in the heart of Greenwich market, this pub will inevitably be popular, it's easy to find and it's a handy refuelling stop after a day spent inspecting the pricey tat on offer all around it. And in the evenings - especially towards the weekend, it's popular with kids out on the town (well Greenwich anyway) with their mates. It tried to be different for a while, with its food shop and foodie menu, but in the end bowed to the pressure, out went the shop and the menu, in came the "lounge bar" features and a pretty standard menu - and the crowds followed. So, despite the drink - there's a good range of real ales on offer, with regular guest beers - it's not really our sort of place any longer, mores the pity. But who can blame the owners for cashing in?
