From the outside it promises a good, cosy, English pub experience. Inside, it's a little short of the mark. It still has some Victorian stuff (mainly the windows) but most of it has been restored or faked. The nautical theme is there, but a little understated. With its recent relaunch, the beer is pretty good, particularly the TEA beer, the food's improved with a new menu and the service is pretty prompt, even when it's busy. It's easy to see why it's popular with the locals - particularly on a warm evening - as it's a nice place to sit outside and enjoy a little sun.
