how to find it:

Leicester Square: Take the Leicester Square exit from the station and turn left. Head up the road and cross Shaftesbury Avenue (Cambridge Circus is the wide bit) - you'll know when you get there, as Les Mis has been on at the theatre across the road for what feels like forever. The pub is right next to the theatre. Tottenham Court Road: Take the Charing Cross Road exit from the station and head down towards Shaftesbury Avenue. The pub is off to the left - shortly after you pass Foyles bookstore - and next to the theatre where The Woman in White is.

picture of Spice of LifeThis a large pub in a in a prime location, which, of course, is what brings it down - it's in the heart of the theatre district and there's a constant tide of people flowing in and out as they make their way to and from the shows. Especially in the evenings, when all the regulars gone home to suburbia. Being a McMullen pub, the choice of beers are not your usual West End selection. This pub's okay, but it's not really one you would go out of your way for. And there's live music in the basement every night of the week.
