picture of Edgar WallaceA handsome, but deceptively pokey pub once you get inside, which gets crowded pretty quickly at the usual post-office hours times. Given the area, the number of suits was not a surprise but it's not unbearable and they head off to their homes pretty quickly after work. There is an upstairs function room with bar (which can be hired) offering some breathing space, but expect this to be occupied on Friday evenings. There's a good range of decent beer and a pretty standard range of pub grub on the menu, add to this table service - even when the pub is very busy - and you've got a very nice pub indeed.
