Leave Oxford Circus tube by the Argyll Street exit. Walk down Argyll Street (away from Oxford Street) to Great Marlborough Street. Turn left walk a short distance, then turn right down Carnaby Street. Take the 2nd left and you should see it ahead of you on the right on the next corner.

picture of White HorseYou would be forgiven to think that on the narrow, dare we say quaint, streets around Carnaby Street that the White Horse would be a cosy traditional boozer. Or at least a hip hangout for the media Soho types. Wrong on both counts. First impressions left us wondering where the chairs were. A few high level tables round the edge didn't exactly give the place warmth. But of course we quickly realised: only standing room is needed for the throng of after-workers who descend here. On a Saturday afternoon, however, the only people to be seen were tourists, all desperately trying to get seats in one cosy section (which was once the shop next door), hidden at the back. The three ales were fine but our food was distinctly average, with the vegetables stone cold. Forgive this review for a Fancyapint? cliché, but there are definitely better pubs nearby.
