picture of ShipThis is one of the original dockers' pubs that line Westferry/Manchester road as it loops around the Island. The pub was spruced up a good while ago in a nod to the newcomers arriving in these parts, but the subsequent years have not been kind to it - the new residents have ignored it and it's now looking a little ragged round the edges. It's a pity really, because it's a friendly enough pub and with a little TLC in the decorating department and little more choice in the drinks this place could be a whole lot more attractive, but we guess it's difficult to reconcile its industrial past with its residential present. It's not quite there yet and in reality is not one for casual visitors, so it's only a one pinter, but it could quite easily be a two.
