how to find it:

Take the Great Eastern Street exit out of Old Street tube (exit 3) and wander down Old Street for a few minutes. Keep an eye out for the left turn for Pitfield Street: once you find it, head up there and you'll find the pub on your left just after passing Charlie Wright's International Bar.

picture of George and VultureFormerly a solid, local's pub, a recent refit has seen things being altered here, with the pool table - and we think some of the bar furnishings - removed. An old L-shaped Fuller's boozer, there's still a decent pub at its core, but there's just the sense its wings have been ever so slightly clipped since the refit. It feels a tad more formal than before - especially now there's a baby grand piano in the corner. Even with that addition, we're not too sure they'll be too many singsongs at this one.
