A splendid building, refurbished, giving it a slight change of character. Previously it had a predominantly 1930s interior, but now furniture, fixtures and fittings from later decades have been added to the mix, creating a more trendy, loungey atmosphere and the Debtors bar downstairs has all sorts of nooks and crannies where you can hide away for those more intimate moments. There are real ales on the hand pumps - Pride, Black Sheep, Greene King IPA and a good few Continentals (eg Leffe, Hoegaarden, Fruli) on tap. The food is pretty standard for this type of pub and there's often something musical on (eg DJ) in the evenings. During the day you'll find a good few tourists in here and lunching office workers, but in the evening it's much more of a young locals' thing.
