Once an old spit and sawdust affair, it's now owned by DJ Jon Carter and chums and is more in keeping with the trend-setters of Camden. With its designer black interior, ever changing DJ sets and a mix and match menu the place could easy have ended up its own back garden. It hasn't though. The bar staff know what they're doing and even if there's an air of studied cool about some of the punters, they're not the sort of crowd who'll stare at you if you're not sporting an old skool Adidas top. Plenty of room inside and outside (including a garden and roof terrace) but come early, as it gets filled to capacity on the weekend. All in all, a fine advert for the rejuvenation of old pubs. If only they kept hold of that MP3 jukebox... Oh, and the beer's good too.
