The Coach and Horses is a pretty decent semi-rural pub in the village of Kibworth, a short drive from Leicester. An old property, it's long and thin, with a central bar creating a cosy atmosphere. One side is complete with a real fireplace, which somewhat sits at odds with the other 'fireplaces' in the pub - both of which were actually plasma screens showing a video of some burning logs. Despite this unnecessary 21st century abomination, the remainder of the decor is very 1970s, down to the wagon wheel embedded into the wall. Service was chirp and the punters a mixed and friendly bunch. Drinks wise, you'll find a couple of Greene King beers along with a relatively poorly kept Wadworth 6X. We also spied miniature bottles of Mateus Rose wine and an odd Pepto Bismol coloured liqueur called 'Rose Tequila'. Food was reasonably priced and well prepared and we can only commend their flexibility: when a couple who didn't want to eat the meat-based gravy arrived with a jar of vegetarian gravy granules, the chef was happy to use it as a replacement. So overall, a rather surreal little pub, but one we're happy to return to in the future.
