how to find it:

Turn out of Oxford Street tube station and head down Regent Street towards Piccadilly. Turn 2nd right into Hanover Street and then first left into Pollen Street and you'll see the pub on your left a little way down.

picture of Black Lion and French HornThis pub isn't really one you'd write home about, but it's competent enough and a hell of a lot more appealing than the place opposite. It's a narrow little place with old oak panelled walls, but there's not much else to remark on. It's got pride and Adnams on the hand pumps and pretty average range of other fayre. Although we did like the offer of Champagne at £15 per bottle. It's a lively enough place, populated mainly by people who work in the surrounding area, we suspect it's just far enough off Regent Street for most of the tourists to miss it. (closed at weekends)
