picture of Cross KeysAttention-seeking won't always win friends, but we're happy to forgive the Cross Keys for its garish yellow exterior, which certainly drew our gaze. Luckily the paint job inside is more subtle in this small two-level venue, which is decorated with a random collection of items including plates, cigar boxes and keys. The main area at ground level has fixed benches around two sides and an array of other seats, giving enough space to squeeze in about 30 people. Down a couple of steps at the back is the bar, which had three ales available on our visit -- but six pumps in total. It is more of a locals place than a tourist magnet and with its two large and two small TV's is set up perfectly for watching sport. It would actually be an achievement to find any spot which doesn't give a perfect view of one of the screens.
