picture of The PhoenixThe Phoenix is a quirky little pub owned by a benign old gent who lives on the premises. Two large stuffed animal heads (an elk and a yak) mounted on the walls stare forlornly at each other across the crowd of merrymakers. Neon beer signs twinkle between their horns. An excellent variety of beers, ales and cocktails are on offer and it can get very crowded at the weekend, so come early for a seat. The animal theme continues with a large stained glass window depicting the pub's incendiary namesake.
