sorry no picture of this pubA Scream pub, and, as far as we know, the only (overt) chain pub in this town richly provided with drinking places, the Raisin is dire. It takes its name from one of the University of St Andrews's stranger, and quasi-mediaeval (but invented much more recently) traditions- an early winter weekend in which too much drinking, and wearing of strange costumes, and writing notes in Latin, takes place, amongst other things. The bar is located at lower ground floor level and is very sports orientated, with lots of screens showing various types of games all about. The selection of drinks is poor, as is the atmosphere - which our notes summarise in the word "sweaty". Given the close proximity of so many other far better drinking places there's really no reason to come here - other than it being (by a few metres) the nearest pub to the bus station, I suppose.
