The Royston is a giant, suburban pub which suffered one of those identikit, taste-free refurbishments which makes it look like the set of a daytime talk show. Everything is clean and tidy, indicating the refurb was recently done, but we can't tell as it already looks quite dated. A standard slew of cooking lagers is complimented by cheap, cheap food and there's a fairly nice outside area at the front. The quiz night is pretty good and the atmosphere is less, shall we say, 'exuberant' than other pubs towards Chingford Mount, but really this is one for the locals.
