We don't know what this place was like as the White Lion before its refurbishment in 2006, but it didn't take us long to the get measure of it's new look as Chatsworth Bar. In a word: bleak. Gray exterior and plain walls make this more bland than the blandest All Bar One in Blandsville. Apart from a mirror on the back wall there's scant decoration here - it looks like a partially completed project. The choice of drinks was depressingly generic and the food expensive, considering it's in Acton. Indeed, although we've heard good things about the food, it's been described as "gastropub food at restaurant prices", when we'd rather hoped to have it at gastropub prices. There's space for a laid back, modern pub in the area, but for us the Chatsworth isn't really it. However for those hankering after some post 11pm drinking without resorting to the Redback or Wetherspoon, weekends sees the Chatsworth open until 2.30am, complete with DJs.
