Approaching from a distance, such is the tasteful external colour scheme, you'd be forgiven for thinking this is your common-or-garden upmarket smartened up old boozer. Not this time, though: somewhat refreshingly the King's Arms is still an old boozer. Tucked on a quiet street behind that great wanton lump of architecture known as Ealing Broadway Centre, time has stood still here. It's a grand old Victorian pub, with two separate rooms, the back one of which is nicely kitted out with wood panelling. Worn carpets feature throughout and the radio plays endlessly. Our Saturday evening visit found a small host of older men tucking into the complimentary ham rolls, but as the evening progressed the demographics did begin to widen. Given the relaxed service and general laid back ambience, this is the sort of place to while away your time reading the paper, rather than have an amazing night out. Add a small B&B above and we're happy to award a perfectly reasonable two pint rating.
