picture of Devonshire CatAn unprepossessing, modern place on the outside, with an interior to match, the Devonshire Cat seems, at first sight, to be surprisingly popular - it is rarely empty and there's always a lively buzz no matter when you visit. However, a quick glance towards the bar will tell you all you need to know. With seven permanent ales and five guest beers on the hand pumps (all well-kept, Cask Marque accredited beers, by the way), numerous continental beers on tap and a seemingly endless range of bottled beers from all over our planet, the Devonshire Cat is a beer drinker's paradise. This cavalcade of cheer is ably supported by attentive and friendly service and should you need solid sustenance, there are excellent sandwiches and burgers most of the time. With around 120 beers on offer, it would take a good few visits to sample even a small part of the range - and if you can't find something here to suit you, we suggest you stick to osmosis.
