sorry no picture of this pubTwo things hit us about the Sun Inn immediately. Firstly, there were more people wearing sportswear and football tops than any other type of clothing. Secondly, the number of children very nearly outnumbered the adults. If truth be told, neither of these two observations filled us with unfettered enthusiasm in our never-ending quest for that quaint country pub. Stuck in the middle of nowhere (our receipt said it was Broadley Common) this is a huge refurbished McMullen's pub almost identical to the others seen throughout Hertfordshire and Essex. With a conservatory, cheap but well made food, good ales and a beer garden most easily measured in parts of an acre, it ticks all the right boxes for those regulars present. For us, however, it didn't really feel like a pub, but more like the bar in some sort of family fun camping resort.

Eating at the Sun Inn ... we last ate here on 21/07/2007

The food which is very similar in content to a number of other McMullen's pubs was not at all bad. The burger was actually made with proper meat and well grilled and the sausages were also very nice indeed.
