sorry no picture of this pubWhat a gem of a pub for real ale lovers. Very close to the main station (and opposite a very well-stocked adult shop) but not particularly touristy. However, it is what estate agents might call 'intimate' or 'cosy'. Not for large parties! The interior is robustly built with plenty of bricks and wood. It previously housed the excellent Dark Star brewery in its cellar, but since becoming more popular the brewery has relocated a mile or so away, although the pub still stocks its output. There are 10 hand pumps, 7 for beer and 3 for cider, and needless to say all are very well kept. We only made a flying visit, but we will definitely go back.
