sorry no picture of this pubMarked only by the large mural of, surprisingly, a bunch of grapes, this pub is tucked away just outside town in Pontypridd. Catering for a mixed clientele of diners in the dining room area and locals watching rugby, this pub has a reputation for good pub-grub and decent ales. Supplied by the locally based Otley brewery the Bunch of Grapes is a good destination for drinking and eating. The food is a cut above the average, without becoming too clever for its own good. A previous visit on a Saturday afternoon found the Bunch of Grapes a popular spot for watching sports results on the smallish TV - no big screen cinema confusion, just real rugby fans. The interior is clean and restrained, yet stylish without losing sight of what makes a pub feel a place of character. The location is a mixed blessing, as any pub which requires your own transport to reach it or shanks's pony doesn't normally get our vote, but if you make the effort, it's worth it. One thing to note, though: when watching sports here remember the bar crowd is naturally partisan and cheering Llanelli is not advisable as we discovered!
