how to find it:

Vauxhall: take the 87 or 77 from Vauxhall bus station - after 15 - 20 mins the bus will arrive on Lavender Hill (that begins just after the Sainsbury's Local and Rielly's Pool Hall which you will pass on your right). Remain on the bus for two more stops, alighting near the Cinamen Cay restaurant. Cross the street and walk on for around 2mins and Osmium will appear on your left. Clapham Junction: as above take the 87/77 from outside Clapham Junction and remain on the bus for around 5mins, taking the stop just after Osmium leaving yourself with a 1 min walk back to the bar.

picture of OsmiumAlthough Osmium has improved substantially since it opened in the summer of 2005, this rather standard swanky bar still sinks anonymously into the ocean of similar outlets in the Clapham/Battersea area. The interior is bright, colourful and reminiscence of a central London bar with its smooth fittings, leather bound booth areas and assortment of high priced lagers and cocktails. Its hardly surprising that in the evenings Osmium ups the music and invites in the DJs, although this is something of a contrast to the near silence that pervades during the daytime. However, while all this is nicely done, there is very little that sets this bar apart from anywhere else of its type, except for the fact that it has some of the most uncomfortably rigid metal stools every to grace our posteriors. Certainly all right for a visit if you like this kind of thing, but unlikely to become a noteworthy favourite.
