picture of The GoatSituated in the pub-laden environment of Sopwell Lane, the Goat is one of many battlecruisers vying for attention in the area. On our recent Sunday visit we didn't have any trouble finding a spare table, though the quiz later in the evening - and weekend evenings - are reportedly a different matter. The former coaching inn has a friendly atmosphere and seems to have plenty of nooks and crannys if you're looking for a secluded spot, while a lucky few can lounge on the sofas. Board games and bar billiards are available for mental stimulation, or if a pint and a natter is the only requirement you'll usually find three ales in addition to the fizzy options. It has changed management this year so we'll keep an eye on any future developments
