picture of Pimlico TramThe Pimlico Tram is a vaguely bizarre pub set into a 70s council block, all of which is so incongruous against the backdrop of nearby Georgian houses that it looks as if it was picked up off a street corner in SE2 and left here by mistake. We would've walked straight passed, but the plants in the widow caught our eye enough to peer in. It didn't look like a council estate pub - DFS-esque settees, leather armchairs, art and tea lights; there had clearly been an attempt to smarten - even trendify - this architectural mistake. For that we can only give credit. The only customers, however - a handful of blokey locals propping up the bar - seemed as ambivalent to the new-look as they were to the perennially average Green King IPA. Jacket potatoes are offered if you're hungry served by jokey, friendly staff, but we're not sure how many regulars partake in the £25 champagne. We didn't hate it here and there was plenty of comfy seating, but we probably won't rush back.
