picture of PloughNorthfields has a small handful of pubs, but if you're in the area the Plough is probably your best bet. Its a big, busy place, which although subject to a recent modest refurbishment, still retains the atmosphere of a proper pub. All of this seems to suit the mixed clientele, which ranges from young locals having a few drinks before heading into Central London, to diners and older regulars. It was pretty hectic on our Friday night visit, but there was enough space to accommodate everyone comfortably and the friendly staff coped well under pressure. We also suspect it has got a late licence of some sort, as we've spied people still drinking here at approaching midnight on the weekend. A good local pub which serves the community very well.

Eating at the Plough ... we last ate here on 26/03/2007

Standard pub grub and fairly reasonable prices. We tried the 'lamb burger with chunky chips' which was under £7. It was pretty good, although 'potatoes cut in half' would've been a more accurate description than chips.
