sorry no picture of this pubAlthough the Approach has a big, brightly coloured dollop of pretension on its shoulders and a microphone glued to its lips, this bar nevertheless has just about enough taste and excitement to carry it through to the right side of quality. The interior is decked out in a minimalist style with modern art pictures, darkish floors and comfortable loungey seats that provide enough space for the constantly entertained clientele. And we mean constantly entertained, as the Approach is like a child that can't sit still, bombarding its customers from a huge array of TV screens with sport and music videos or prodding them in the side with daily comedy and music acts. We almost felt like putting it on a naughty stool at one point. This is not, therefore, a bar where you can sit and while away a quiet evening and some will no doubt find the trendy bustle a little too forceful. But with a surprisingly good selection of lagers/ales coupled with a genuinely entertaining set of events, it is certainly one of the better bars in the city centre, especially for a lively night out.
