The village of Drighlington, to the south of Leeds and Bradford, is incredibly well stocked for pubs, with enough options to try a different establishment every night of the week. Among these is the Malt Shovel, which tends to attract a more mature clientele. There is very little outstanding inside, about the drinks or the décor, except for some bizarre oversized wooden surrounds for the ceiling lights. The pub dog also seems to be carrying too much timber so we assume the locals are very generous with their scraps. On our visit, the most activity it mustered was snoring loudly on a step.
