how to find it:

Car or taxi is the only way to get to this place. Blackboys is on the B2192 - the road from Lewes to Heathfield - you can't miss it if you're travelling on this road. If you're coming from Uckfield then turn sharp right as soon as you join the Lewes Road as you come out of Blackboys village, you'll soon see the pub on your right.

picture of Blackboys InnA well known pub in these parts, it's been a favourite for people out on a Sunday run to admire the East Sussex countryside for years. It's a traditional looking country pub, complete with duck pond and knickeryknackery decor and fits in well in these parts. The pub management changed a little while ago and the pub received a bit of a facelift, most obviously outside, where the area in front of the pub has been considerably tidied up and new furniture installed. Obviously a soon-to-be-favourite feature with nicotine addicts in a few months time. As it's a Harvey's pub, you'd be disappointed if the beer wasn't up to scratch and here, thankfully, it is bang-on (we particularly enjoyed the Old Ale). We've heard varied reports about the food, but on the evidence of what we saw on our last visit it seemed decent enough to us and other diners seemed to concur. It can get crowded on a sunny day, but if you get there early enough, or you happen along on a quieter day, you'll find plenty to enjoy here.
