The Glyn Arms is a very good looking, well-maintained pub, with some lovely original green Truman Brewery tiling. Indeed, it was quite a surprise to find it sitting incongruously amongst some of the less sympathetic excesses of 1970s and 1980s council sanctioned architecture. The inside doesn't quite live up to the exterior promise - its a bit sparse, but with some eclectic touches its ultimately OK. Our afternoon visit found it under new management (who have unfortunately decided to put up ugly net curtains) and populated with nearby locals. There's a pool table and we hear there is live music at certain times but, overall, we got the feeling this pub was aimed fully towards locals rather than walkers along the River Lea.
