sorry no picture of this pubA young pub - or more properly a bar - The Green has a lot going for it if you are one of those people who doesn't demand a lot from their evening out. Comprising a couple of generously-sized rooms of confusing décor, The Green has a lounge area with comfy leather seats and a fire, and a dining area where drinkers can sit if seating is not available up front. We didn't eat but the menu seemed interesting and not too pricey with plenty of sharing platters. It was a Wednesday night when we visited; in attendance were a handful of young locals and the music wasn't too obtrusive. Fridays are almost certainly busier. For summer drinking this venue does have a patio area in front, although one wonders what the Conservative Club immediately next door makes of that. It wouldn't take much to bring The Green up to 3 pints - a beer or two on hand pump would be a good start.
