how to find it:
By rail: alight at Aslockton railway station and turn left. Walking down Main Street for just over a minute will bring you to The Cranmer on the right of the roadside, just before the villages post office. By car: find your way onto the A52 (T) and proceed past the Bingham exit until reaching the Old Grantham Road turn off. Take this road and continue until you reach Dark Lane on your first left (the unofficial entrance to the village). Continue driving for a few more moments, past the railway station and onto Main Road, where the Cranmer will appear on your right.

Located between Aslockton's sleepy railway station and grand medieval church, the Cranmer Arms is a gruff, no-nonsense rural pub that does the job, but without a great deal of flair. The interior is bare and straightforward, with a dark panelled front section giving way to white washed walls, sturdy benches and a weathered pool table at the back. Each area is separated by a no frills bar that serves the standard lagers and bitters with one or two supplementary local ales that are usually enjoyed by locals in all manner of snazzy tweed outfits. Although the large beer garden and children's play area attract the villages younger populous during the summer, this is very much a watering hole for the rural male who while not being hostile wont be inclined to greet an outsider with handshakes and anecdotes.
