The Country Carvery chain has a few big outlets dotted around the suburbs of London. We have found they are pretty similar to (and in our opinion, slightly better than) the familiar Harvester chain. Each Country Carvery pub at least has its own name and are more pubby and less like a hotel reception. This one, on Pickhurst Lane has to be one of the largest pubs we've ever seen. Although we're not sure where they've hidden it all once you get inside, the bar area is even slightly cramped! The rest of it is the restaurant, and we wonder whether there must be a hidden function area of some sort. So, this is definitely one people come to for the restaurant, although the bar menu is also extensive and the drinks options are also good. The clientele tend to be the mature, family types - the garden is very much geared up for children and like most Bromley pubs, it is not entirely chav-free. In a lonely situation between Hayes and Bromley, it is one you would probably have to go out of your way to get to - and we're not sure you'd want to bother. But if you happen to be in this neck of the woods - it won't do any harm to stop in.
