how to find it:

From Manchester Oxford Road: leave the station, turn right and right again into Whitworth Street West. When you get to Oxford Street turn left and the pub is across the road. From Manchester Piccadilly: Take the Fairfield Street exit from the station and proceed down Fairfield Street until you reach Whitworth Street. Bear left down Whitworth and carry on until you reach Oxford Street. Turn right onto Oxford Street and the pub is ahead on the corner with of Portland Street.

picture of The ParamountNormally, you get what you expect with Wetherspoon pubs, but this one's following the recent Wetherspoon trend building larger bars - so there's plenty of room and soft furnishings. There are the normal guest beers at reasonable prices and lots of bottled beers to choose from. It's quiet enough during the day, but we suspect it gets busy at night, as it's located between a club, a casino and a Travel Inn. It's also open until midnight every night and 1.00am on Friday and Saturday. We can't complain about it, as it does what it says on the tin, but it's not one you'd go out of your way for.
