how to find it:

Slade Green: leave the station by the Whitehall Lane/Howbury Lane exit, turning right down Whitehall Lane. At the end turn left down Bridge Road, then, at the end, turn right along Northend Road. You'll find the pub on your right. Erith: follow the signs from the station through the subways to Queens Road. Cross to the opposite side of that road, and follow it along as it becomes, first, South Road and then, Northend Road. You'll find the pub on your left ten minutes further on.

picture of HarrowPerched midway along the relentlessly grey, grimy and desolate Northend Road, the Harrow draws a crowd of suitably hardened locals. It's a big old pub with separate bar areas and a smoky atmosphere throughout. Main courses can be had for around a fiver and there is nothing special on the drinks front. The Harrow is a downbeat place that serves its locals but seems unlikely to draw outsiders, bar the lost or perversely curious.
