Some people have a somewhat negative impression of Lower Edmonton, but as far as drinking goes, the King William IV should prompt a rethink. Right from the off, it felt right here; from the greeting as we entered, to the thanks when we left, to have such friendly service in the modern world of PubCos is as rare as hen's teeth. It seemed contagious, because the locals on this moderately busy weekday night were as friendly as you could hope for, too. The décor was also pleasant in a traditional pub kind of way, with patterned carpets and plenty of original wood, complimented with a large pool room upstairs. A blackboard plays host to standard pub grub, while every Wednesday offers a internationally themed tapas-inspired menu with nothing over £3; at those prices we've been back more than once and it never disappoints. The owners are clearly making an all-round effort here and they deserve to reap the rewards: a pub worthy of anyone's custom.
