From Putney Bridge tube, find the bridge and cross over it. Walk a short way straight down Putney High Street and Lacy Road is the 4th on the right and the pub is a little way down on the right. From Putney BR, exit right and Lacy Road is the 3rd on the left.

Its only 30 feet from Putney High Street, but if you didn't know it was there, you'd miss this pub. The large enclosed, high hedged front garden hides the building away nicely and the only indication of a pub is the hanging sign. As such, on first appearances, you'd think you had discovered a hidden gem - until you actually go in, that is. Its not bad by a long chalk and very popular with young, asymmetrically haircut Putney types. The garden is understandably the attraction but inside is nice too, with enough character and different areas to make it worth a look. A couple of ales on tap and a reasonable looking menu top this off, to make it a worthy alternative to the nearby, but over-popular, Thames-side pubs.
