King & Tinker, Enfield  

Certainly one of the more out-of-the-way pubs featured on Fancyapint.com, the King and Tinker is a bizarre locals pub within earshot of the M25. Set in ample grounds, there was plenty of space for the car park (with no fewer than three Range Rovers present) a beer garden and children's play area, complete with bouncy castle. A greater part of the building dates back to the 16th century, with low beamed ceilings and a huge floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace evidence to this. Apart from a group of golfers enjoying a 19th hole drink, the clientele (with an age range of 8-80) all knew each other and with so many 'characters' in residence, you almost expected a fly-on-the-wall camera crew to pop out. Clearly a pub considerably out of the way for most people, if you happen to be visiting the northern reaches of Whitewebbs Park on a sunny day, the King and Tinker is (literally) the only place to be.
