how to find it:
Just off of junction 25 of the M25, an A-Z might be the best bet for this one. However, the 217 bus from Turnpike Lane and the 310/317 from Enfield Town both travel passed Bullsmoor Lane, which is nearby. From Turkey Street train station, if you exit onto the Great Cambridge dual carriageway (A10) and walk right for about half a mile, turn left onto Bullsmoor Lane and the pub is at the end of the road, passed Capel Manor.

The Pied Bull is an unfortunate example of what happens when a pub chain corporation with little imagination gets hold of an old country pub. The low ceilings, ornate wooden carvings and beams remain but the pastel hues and corporate uniformity exude blandness into every nook and cranny. From the exterior, it's the kind of place where you expect a ruddy faced, jolly landlord, but instead you get uniformed rota duty staff - and it shows. Considering there's a fantastic nursery over the road, we were hoping for a better flower display, too. But moaning over, its not a bad place by any stretch. The semi-rural setting next to Capel Manor is great, there's three real ales on tap and a good menu on offer. The garden out the back is also pretty enough when the sun shines. We just hoped for a little more heart.
