picture of Red LionA charming, two-bar, villagey pub, in the charming, villagey part of St. Mary Cray, the Red Lion has a fair bit to commend it: a friendly landlord, a decent enough selection of drinks, a well-kept and comfortable interior, loyal regulars, and so on. Relaxing and traditional, this feels a lot further away from London (let alone some other places down the Cray valley) than it is. One warning: it's closed between 3 and 7.30 at weekends. Otherwise, a wee gem.
