how to find it:

From Coven Garden, exit right and walk down Long Arch until the mini-roundabout, where you tun left and walk to the End of Endell Street. Oporto is on the right. From Tottenham Court Road exit and walk down St. Giles' High Street (to the right of Centre Point Tower). Oporto will soon appear on your right.

picture of OportoIt says a lot that the most exciting thing about Oporto was the 70s looking illuminated sign outside displaying either 'cafe' or 'bar', changing dependent on whether its daytime or evening. Stuck at the wrong end of Covent Garden, this is a perfectly adequate, but rather underwhelming bar. A good mix of people and pleasant service it has - character it does not. For its bland décor, lack of tables and forgettable music, Oporto gets a distinctly average two-pint rating. We also advise to face away from the window in the evening, unless you want to be constantly dazzled by the lights of cars zooming around St. Giles' Circus. In summary: Boring but functional.
