picture of The Cock TavernNot unattractive from the outside (despite the wooden slatted blinds which always look wrong in pubs) the Cock Tavern is nonetheless a rather standard, slightly run-down boozer. It's not often we come across places where we think it would benefit from a deep clean, but the smoking ban has highlighted how many people must've once smoked in here. The back is dominated by a giant footy screen (at least when a match is on) and the usual pool, darts and fruit machines make up the other entertainment. We've only visit during the daytime on a weekend, so we've always found it pretty popular, with a mix of E17 residents: market folk, older blokes, shoppers and regulars. Night times here (which are accompanied by a late licence) probably offer up a different experience to the one we had.
