picture of The CamelIf you like the nearby Florist, but find it getting a little too crowded and noisy for you, then your best bet is to try this pub. Run by the same people, it's friendly, family affair. The great original tiling is intact but its been smartened up inside - the framed photos of the Camel from days gone by are a nice touch. The service is good, the food's good - really excellent pies - and there're a couple of decent ales from Adnam's on the hand pumps. Its understandably popular Sunday lunchtime, but you'll usually find it comfortably busy most days of the week.

Eating at The Camel ... we last ate here on 19/10/2007

Quite exceptional pies, with real mash and minty mushy peas and the menu includes veggie options - excellent! Most are £8.95.
