Part of Mitchells & Butlers' Sizzling Pub company range, which is specified thus: "great local drinking pubs serving 'value for money' food on hot (sizzling) skillets". This is vaguely accurate, although perhaps a less superlative initial adjective is required: 'uninspiring' was the word that occurred to us. Anyway, The Sandrock lacks interest as a boozer, but we noticed plenty of genuinely sizzling food being served, which seemed very popular. Sample price: £5.99 for an 8oz steak with a free Carling Extra Cold (or small wine). Spitfire was on tap, but overall this is not one for the ale enthusiasts. We felt it was a bit Harvester, unsurprising as the aforementioned Mitchells & Butler are also responsible for said establishments. Useful for a cheap steak but don't go out of your way.
